Adrienne
Angel received her musical education at North Carolina's
High Point University and at the Juilliard School in New
York City. While still studying acting, voice and dance,
she became a model and TV spokeswoman. This developed into
a successful career in musical theatre, television, industrial
shows, commercials, cabaret, jingle singing and voice-overs.
Her Broadway credits include: Bells are Ringing, revival
of the Ziegfeld Follies, First Impressions, High Spirits,
Promises, Promises. Also national tours of Show Boat, and
the Sandy Duncan production of Peter Pan.
Though not interested in becoming a voice
teacher, it was her own teacher who insisted she start passing
on the practical vocal knowledge she had gained from her
broad range of experience. Thus, while pursuing her own
singing career, she found that her biggest talent lay in
helping others find their own voices.
Her ability to articulate simply and clearly the principles of free efficient sound production has been equally successful with singers, actors, and dancers. They have found that her approach has enabled them to use their voices more effectively and consistently in a short period of time, whether it is to meet the demands of Broadway musicals, TV and film, or rock and roll. She has served on the Board of Directors of the New York Singing Teachers' Association (NYSTA), the oldest organization of singing teachers in the US, and is a member of The National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS). In addition, for fifteen summers she served on the faculty of The Broadway Theatre Project.
She teaches privately and presents master classes on vocal technique in America, Japan, and Australia. She belongs to the performing unions Actors Equity, SAG, AFTRA, and AGVA.
